The Right Way to Apply

Most people use only 25-50% of the recommended amount. Here's how to do it right.

01
🧴

Use Enough

Apply 1 oz (a shot glass full) to cover your entire body. For your face alone, use about half a teaspoon — roughly a nickel-sized dollop.

02
⏱️

Apply Early

Chemical sunscreens need 15-20 minutes to absorb and activate. Mineral sunscreens work immediately upon application. Plan accordingly.

03
🔄

Reapply Often

Every 2 hours, or immediately after swimming, sweating, or toweling off. No sunscreen — not even SPF 100 — is a set-it-and-forget-it solution.

04
🫳

Don't Miss Spots

Ears, back of neck, tops of feet, hairline, and backs of hands are commonly missed. UV damage doesn't skip the spots you forget.

05
☁️

Cloudy Days Count

Up to 80% of UV rays penetrate clouds. Even on overcast days, UV radiation reaches your skin. Apply sunscreen regardless of cloud cover.

06
📅

Check Expiry

Sunscreens expire — typically after 3 years. Expired sunscreen loses effectiveness. If there's no expiry date, write the purchase date on the bottle.
